About This Site

This Web site was initiated by a private, membership organization called the Texas Association of School Boards. Our members are the locally elected school boards in every community throughout Texas. 

Locally elected school board members are unpaid volunteers who are dedicated to educational excellence for Texas school children. They serve because they care about their communities, their schools, and most importantly the children.

We represent every school district in Texas—districts in every geographic area,  large districts and small, and rural, suburban, and urban.  That 100% membership is a 21-year tradition for us.

Lately, there has been a lot of conversation about Texas schools, and unfortunately, some of the information has been inaccurate.  This Web site is established to make accurate information about Texas public schools available to all.
