Texas Districts Get High Scores on Financial Integrity
Yesterday the Texas Education Agency released FIRST ratings for school districts and open-enrollment charter schools.
FIRST is short for Financial Integrity Accountability System of Texas and was created to ensure that school districts are accountable — not just for academic progress in the classroom – but also for their financial integrity in school operations.
87% of Texas public school districts achieved the top ranking of “superior achievement.” Among open-enrollment charter schools, 40% got the top ranking on the scale.
