Texas graduation rates reach all-time high

The Texas Education Agency today released new figures on on-time graduation rates, and Texas has reached a new record: 85.9 percent in the class of 2011. That number is 1.6 percent higher than the previous record set by the class of 2010.

Additionally, more than 92 percent of students either graduated in four years or continued in high school for a fifth year. Another 1.1 percent earned a GED.
